Play As The Way & GRC/SR

Jay Jack is the founder of GRC Dog Sports and one of the nation’s gurus on biological fulfillment and relationship based training. He is known worldwide for his authenticity, highly regarded and scientific approach to play and behavior rehabilitation, and remarkable teaching skills. Along with his wit, humor, and honor in dog training, jiu jitsu and MMA, Jay brings a refreshing outlook to life with your dog that is simply unmatched. A born warrior and survivor, he is truly one of a kind and we are honored to welcome him back a 3rd time to Orange County in March 2027 for a dual 4-day training workshop.

“Real play goes past just giving leverage through relationship. It teaches how to receive coaching and corrections. Empathy. Play Partner Matching. Delayed gratification. Thinking in, and modulating of drive. Interrupting drive. Ending drive. The ENTIRE communication system. That’s basically ALL of training other than the actual physical position. Which is the LEAST of my concerns. “ —Jay Jack

The first 2 days will be the renowned Play As The Way Workshop, where Jay delves into the communication systems behind meaningful play. Emotional regulation and control, clarity, fulfillment, and real world behavioral change will be at the core, showcased through limited working spots as well as lecture and Q&A.

Stay for the next 2 days where we shift into fulfillment beyond traditional play systems, including spring pole, wall climb, weight pull, and slatmill. Training for the SR test under Jay’s coaching is also available.

The goal is to have all elements available for hands-on demonstration and practice throughout the GRC portion.

Working spots historically sell out extremely fast, but audit spots are packed with information, coaching, and discussion.

Participants are encouraged to attend all 4 days (see pricing below) though each workshop may be attended individually.

The location includes a large indoor temperature-controlled training space, as well as ample outdoor field space.

Additional details and schedule updates will be added as the event approaches.

Please contact me to reserve your spot.

Dogmanship Workshop with Chad Mackin

Chad Mackin is arguably one of the pillars of dog training when it comes to biological fulfillment, especially when it comes to the leash and the conflicts and frustrations it brings. While he is definitely known as “The Leash Guy”, he also offers impressive knowledge that goes to the roots of emotions in dogs and how they drive behaviors, the distinctions between the energy states that create those emotions and therefore choices, and how we can impact our dogs and change their decision making process.

Chad, a former president of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), has created an incredible program that has improved the methods of trainers worldwide. He is the creator of the Pack to Basics program, and he has trained dogs and other professional trainers since 1993 throughout the US and Canada.

The “Dogmanship Workshop” will have both working and audit spots, and will delve into concepts like using the dog’s natural instincts to alleviate and in many cases stop anti-social and aggressive behavior, as well as an in-depth approach to alleviating frustration and conflict with leashwork. The emphasis on improving connection through the leash alone will be incredibly useful to the every day dog owner or anyone wishing to build upon their leash handling skills.

In addition, Chad will be covering topics such as:

• The roots and causes of aggression (and how to relieve them)

• The truth about the social nature of dogs, and how it affect us

• The secrets of de-stressing an anxious dog

• Gaining and maintaining trust

• Non-threatening results based handling

• Listening with the leash

• Utilizing Constant Communication

• How dogs teach (how dogs learn)

• Creating compliance by avoiding resistance

• Creating a cooperative mind (get the mind and the body follows)

• The most destructive and common myths about dog behavior

• Using the right tool for the right job

Working spots are limited and will be by application onlythe goal is to select dogs in an effort to properly showcase the above concepts to the entire audience. This event will sell out quickly! .

Working spots: $600

Audit spots: $400.

The event will have certificates for attendees and a seminar workbook to keep.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided both days.

Please contact me with any and all questions, as well as to sign up, whether a working or audit spot.
